
Dr. Sauer is a Charlotte native and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she earned both her undergraduate and medical degrees. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Chicago Hospitals and a Gastroenterology Fellowship at Loyola University in Chicago. She is Board certified in Gastroenterology and Hepatology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Sauer currently serves as President Elect of the North Carolina Society of Gastroenterology, where she advocates for statewide excellence in GI care. Nationally, she is a participant in the American College of Gastroenterology Advanced Leadership Program. She has also been elected as a Fellow of the American Gastroenterological Association. Dr. Sauer practices general gastroenterology, offering a comprehensive range of GI services.
